Superintendent Sean Krakower has been with the Borough of Leonia for 5 years working as the Recreation Departments Program Director for 4 years and Office Manager for 1 year. Prior to working in the Recreation Department’s office he was the Wood Park Summer Camp Director for 2 years. 

Superintendent Krakower is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickenson University in Madison, New Jersey with a degree in Business Administration and Management. The Superintendent of Recreation is under the charge of the Leonia Recreation Commission who are appointed by the Mayor of the Borough. Sean oversees two full time staff members and over 100 part time staff.  The position of Superintendent of Recreation is responsible for the management of programming, the Recreation Center, the parks and playgrounds within Leonia Borough, the Senior Center and its programs and the Leonia Swim Club. 

Sean Krakower is married to Pranvera Qose who is a Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health and Chilton Medical Center. She is currently studying to become a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Rutgers University. Wood Park
Location: 370 Broad Avenue. Parking lot shared with Leonia Public Library on 227 Fort Lee Road.
Facilities: Multiple playgrounds for various ages, two swing sets, basketball courts, three tennis courts, tennis wall, softball field, multiple picnic areas with tables, shelter house with bathrooms.

Station Park
Located at the corner of Station Parkway and Fort Lee Road. 
Facilities: Playground, swings, softball field, picnic benches, accessible picnic bench.

The 2025 Leonia Swim Club season runs from May 24 to Labor Day, September 1.

The Recreation Commission consists of seven (7) members whom are United States Citizens and residents of the Borough of Leonia. The members of the Commission are appointed by the Mayor of the Borough with the Advice and consent of the Borough Council. There are two (2) alternate members designated at the time of appointment as Alternate No. I, and Alternate No. II. The terms of the alternate members shall be for five (5) years. The Commissioners first appointed shall be appointed for the following terms: one (1) member for five (5) years, one (1) member for four (4) years, two (2) members for three (3) years, two (2) members for two (2) years and one member for one (1) year. The term of office of each appointee shall commence on the 1st day of January and shall expire on the 31st day of December in the appropriate year. All Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term only. No Commissioner shall service for more then two (2) consecutive terms. The Commission may appoint a Secretary or Clerk, a Superintendent of Recreation and such number of custodians, supervisors, and assistants as shall be necessary and proper for carrying out its functions, all subject to the approval of the Governing Body of the Borough of Leonia.
