The Borough of Leonia has adopted an Abandoned Property Ordinance, (ORDINANCE NO. 2020-08), as a means of registering vacant and abandoned properties and to abate the nuisance these properties can create in the community. The Ordinance was amended in March 2021 to reflect changes in the fee schedule.

Failure to register an Abandoned Property or comply with the provisions of the aforementioned ordinances will be subject to fines and penalties. Out-of-state creditors are subject to additional fines and/or requirements as per Section 191-24 of Ordinance 2020-08. 
