The office of the Borough Administrator is charged with the full-time management of Borough operations. The Borough Administrator acts as the Borough's COO/CAO, and provides financial oversight, implements policy and programs on behalf of the Mayor and Council, liaises with external organizations, individuals, and governments, and provide a variety of services to support Borough operations.

About Administrator Wardrop
Andrea started her career in local government with the City of Manhattan, Kansas in the mid-1980’s shortly after graduating from Michigan State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. Andrea obtained her Masters of Arts in Public Administration from Northern Illinois University in 1992, graduating first in her class.
From 1986 through 2001, Andrea served in four municipalities in financial management roles in the Chicago suburbs before moving to Sydney, Australia where her family lived for two years on an expatriate assignment with Scholastic Books.
After returning to the United States in 2003, Andrea spent the next 10 years working for PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in finance and as an auditor in corporate tax accounting in Florham Park, NJ before returning to local government in July 2016.
In July 2016, Andrea was hired by the Borough of Manville, NJ, to serve as its Borough Administrator for this town of 10,400. As Manville’s Administrator, Andrea was determined to help this flood-prone town; in April, 2017, Andrea received the designation of Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), a national program established by the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) recognizing continuing education and professional development in the study of floodplain management.
In July 2019, Andrea transitioned from Manville Borough to the Borough of Leonia as its Interim/Acting Borough Administrator until October 2019 when the Leonia Borough governing body appointed Andrea as its permanent Borough Administrator.
Andrea is married to Richard Wardrop and has two sons, Nicholas (a 1LT in the US Army) and Trevor (an insurance professional residing in Chicago, Illinois.) Andrea’s interests outside of her career in local government include playing piano and singing at her church, organic gardening, hiking and bicycling.
