Seasonal Basketball Scoreboard Keeper For Recreation

Seasonal Part-Time position, 8 hours weekly

Position Overview:
The Leonia Recreation Department is seeking responsible and reliable individuals to serve as a Scoreboard Keeper for our Winter Basketball League. This is a part-time, seasonal position ideal for high school and college students, or anyone looking to gain experience in recreation and sports management.

Responsibilities:
● Operate the scoreboard and game clock during basketball games.
● Accurately track score, fouls, and time according to league rules.
● Work closely with referees and recreation staff to ensure smooth game operations.
● Arrive on time and be prepared for assigned shifts.
● Maintain professionalism and good communication with coaches, basketball coordinator, players, and spectators.

Qualifications:
● Must be at least 16 years old.
● Ability to stay focused during fast-paced games.
● Basic knowledge of basketball rules preferred (training will be provided).
● Previous recreation or volunteer experience is a plus, but not required.

Schedule:
Games take place on the weekends from December through March.
