Environmental Commission
The Commission is an advisory to the Mayor and Council and is charged with studying and making recommendations in areas of conservation and environmental protection, including but not limited to open space preservation, water resources, solid waste management and beautification.

Historic Preservation Commission
The mission of the Leonia Historic Preservation Commission is to protect and preserve the unique character of Leonia with specific focus on its historic sites and buildings.

Recreation Commission
This commission promotes and develops recreation, sports, and fitness opportunities while addressing the needs of the residents and promoting a strong sense of community and improving the quality of life in Leonia

Shade Tree Commission
The Leonia Shade Tree Commission is charged with protecting, maintaining and replenishing one of our town's most important qualities: its fabulous population of shade trees.

VIRTUAL VIA GOOGLE MEETAND IN PERSON


PLEASE TAKE NOTICE  N.J.S.A. 10:4-8(b) authorizes local units to conduct public meetings through the use of streaming services and other online meeting platforms. Members of the public can join all meetings from a computer, tablet or smartphone or dial in by phone. Unless otherwise scheduled, the 2025 meetings of the Environmental Commission of the Borough of Leonia will be held virtually via Google Meet and in person at the Municipal Center, 229 Fort Lee Road, 2nd Floor. All meetings are scheduled to commence at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss routine matters related to the Environmental Commission. Formal action may or may not be taken. Meeting materials are posted on the Borough website and can be found by clicking on the following link: https://www.leonianj.gov/borough-government/boards-committees/environmental-commission. Members of the public can join all meetings from your computer, tablet or smartphone or dial in using your phone.

The purpose of these meetings is to discuss matters related to the Environmental Commission. Formal action may or may not be taken. Meeting materials are posted on the Borough website and

Members of the public who attend will be able to give public comment during the relevant portions of the meetings through this virtual platform. You may also submit public comment by electronic mail to environmentalcommission@leonianj.gov or in written letter form addressed to Karen Marx, Chair, Environmental Commission, by 1 p.m. on the date of the meeting. When submitting your written comment, please reference that it is being submitted as public comment together with the meeting date at which you would like for it to be read.
