The Mission of the Recreation Commission and the Recreation Department is to administer an array of recreational and leisure activities encouraging beneficial health, fitness and a positive well-being for citizens of all ages. This mission includes providing wholesome activities encouraging social opportunities in a non-exclusive and well-maintained environment.
These activities may be in the form of cultural, educational, instructional or recreational. They are diverse so as to offer options for our multicultural community. Most of the recreation offerings, sports and programs are generally introductory and encourage participation and fun over competition. Our programs allow new relationships and rapport with other participants, staff, and members of the community. Our services enhance and enrich lives long after specific activities have ended.
