Historical Preservation Commission (§11-21 - §11-28)
 
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Leonia Historic Preservation Commission is to protect and preserve the unique character of Leonia with specific focus on its historic sites and buildings.
 
   The Historic Preservation Commission shall consist of five (5) regular members and two alternate members.  Of the five (5) regular members, at least one shall be of Class A, at least one member shall be of Class B and three (3) of the five (5) members shall either be Class A or Class B, defines as follows:
 
   Class A - A person who is knowledgeable in building design and construction in architectural history
      and who may reside outside of the Municipality
 
   Class B - A person who is knowledgeable or with a demonstrated interest in local history and who
      may reside outside of the Municipality
 
   Class C - Regular members who are not designated as Class A or B members shall be citizens of the
      Municipality who shall hold no other Municipal Office, position, or employment, except they
      may be a member of the Planning Board or Board of Adjustment
 
   Alternate members shall meet the qualifications of Class C members
 
   The Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council shall appoint all members of the Commission and shall designate at the time of appointment of the regular members by class and the alternate members as "Alternate No. I and Alternate No. II."
